Sorry to say that libraries are still missing. Installed clean on 2 different laptops with XP.
I can see the libraries are in the folders but they don't show up in the IDE.

May be I will have to just open files from the folders - instead of the dropdown in the IDE.

Thanks

For now that is a work around. Is your XP full updated? All service packs? Microsoft changed how the system folders are found and oyu have to have all the updateds/service packs for that to work the way Studio is expecting.

Yes, my PCs are up to date with all service packs (SP3) and latest MS updates.
If any one can point me to a specific MS update, I can check and may be install it if it is missing.

Is there any way to use the customize toolbar option in the IDE to "attach" the libraries ?

Thanks

Well, I installed the latest .18 on a clean PC with XP. Still no libraries. Is it at all possible to get just the code samples? I would really like to see some code for the various processors.
There should be alternate ways to access the code if they are not available through the IDE.
Thanks

Are you installing with admin privledges? Is it asking fo rhtem when you install? If not it may not be able to copy the files. Or if it is able to copy them its not able to find them when opening the software.

The files are installed to x:/ProgramFiles/BasicMicro/Basic Micro Studio/Libraries where x is your root drive

Thanks Nathan - yes I am using admin rights. It did not ask me for anything during install. The code files are on the HDD after installation so I open them as regular files - just that I can't access them from the toolbar in the IDE.

The IDE searches a specific folder when starting up to determine what goes into the library menu. Something must be interfering with it calculating the correct folder location. What is the full path of the BasicMicro installation folder on your PC?

The full path is like this

C:\Program Files\BasicMicro\Basic Micro Studio\library

Should I reinstall to just the C: drive (not in Program Files) ?

Thanks

Mine is stored in: C:\Program Files (x86)\BasicMicro\Basic Micro Studio\library

But I am running the 64 bit version of Windows 7. So the question is what version of the OS are you running? 32 or 64 bit version?

Here are a few things to try:

1) temporally disable your anti-virus if you have not done that already
2) sounds like you've done this but make sure you are logging in as administrator
3) try installing into an alternate folder such as C:\Apps\BasicMicro (don't use spaces)

Download the file from an alternate location (ex: from work or school to a flash drive).

I hate to have you try a bunch of things that don't work but there is simply something not right here (to have only certain files affected which do not work no XP or Windows 7 seems very odd to me).

If nothing else e-mail me (xschwahnx@charter.net be sure to remove x from my e-mail address) and I'll send you a copy of a file that I know works on Windows 7. If I get time over the weekend I'll setup a Windows XP for testing purposes.

BTW: Nathan we should be testing the new versions of the IDE on Windows XP; there still IS a large number of people using Windows XP out there. If you wish send me the files and I will test new releases of the IDE on Windows XP (32 and 64 bit) or Windows 8. Maybe then I can "convince" you to order up some Atom PRO 64s and I can buy 10 the next time you put an order in for some Pro 64s :)

Thanks-Brian

Its not a problem that the files aren't there. Its that the folder path isn't being correctly calculated to populate the menu in Studio. I would definitely try installing to a simpler path though why its a problem I dont know. My path is just as complex and it finds it correctly.
