Post subject:  Newbie need Help with R/C Servo microcontroller

Hi.
I have been looking for a micro-controller to use in my Animatronic Prop's.
I am familiar with the parralax BS2-IC Module.. but can only find them in the USA.
So will the Nano 8 or 18 Micro-controller work with R/C Servo's the same way as the BS2 Module doe's.?

I will want to fix the board and Servos into the props full-time after they are programmed
so I'm Looking for the cheapest way to get the Servo's working on a Program.

Any help would be great as I'm looking forward to Getting started, And this looks like the right place to find the help and info i Need.

Thanks :)

Yes it will. Like the Basic Stamps the Nano can produce servo pulses. We even have a simple to use command, Servo, to do it.

Hi. thanks for the reply, I've been hunting round many sites for information on what to use..

All I need is a A board to move 6 - 8 servo's and maybe use A sound or motion sensor to start the program.

can you advise me on a Board or starter kit to get me started.?

Many thanks

Depends on how much soldering/hacking you want to do. If you just want to bang something together, get a USB dev boards, a Pro 28 module and some male to male jumper wires. If you want to go the cheapest route but with more wiring work, get a nano 28, a nano usb programmer and a bread board from Radio shack/Frys.
