Post subject:  Exporting MBASIC *.hex files into MPLAB

hi...first post...
anyone have an idea how i can import an mbasic *.hex file into mplab and get a successful build? a friend has the pickit3 and would like to use his mplab to burn his pics with my hex code. we get "build failed" and "no source file present"...

Get the latest MPLab and install it. Make sure you have the right device selected(Configure/Select Device) for the hex file you are opening. Select the programmer you are using in the Programmer menu. Click File/Import and select the hex file you want to program. If the file was made by MBasic the config bits should already be set correctly when you import the file. You can double check the config settings in MPLab in the Configuration menu. Then click Programmer/Program. You can Verify after it programs if the code protect bits are not set.
