You already asked this in a different thread( post45958.html#p45958 ), which I also tried to give some suggestions on how to connect it earlier today.

As I was saying, I did try to answer you in the other thread: post45960.html#p45960
Likewise more information up on I believe your posting up on Lynxmotion: http://www.lynxmotion.net/viewtopic.php ... 558#p86558

From I believe your response there, I am not sure which PS2 you have? It does not have the Lynxmotion label on it so it probably not theirs. Not all are created equal. Many will work, but some (like their V2 ones) may not work on 5v systems unless it has the adapter... Some require additional signal, some require other voltage...

But for now assuming it is one that will work, you need some form of cables to connect between your receiver and the Arc32... I often do this with two servo extension wires. I showed how I do this to connect to an Arduino in the thread: http://www.lynxmotion.net/viewtopic.php ... 4&start=54

The other way is using a PS2 cable, that Lynxmotion used to sell (not sure if they still do). The receiver plugs into the cable and then several connectors come out of it to connect to your processor board. Note: Several versions of this cable were sold that had different color schemes. The Lynxmotion Bot Board 2 documents show these cables and several of the different color schemes: http://www.lynxmotion.com/images/html/b ... tm#aglance

The colors mentioned in the codes comments were for the version of the cable that was sold...
Code:
PS2DAT          con P40      ;PS2 Controller DAT (Brown)
PS2CMD          con P41      ;PS2 controller CMD (Orange)
PS2SEL          con P42      ;PS2 Controller SEL (Blue)
PS2CLK          con P43      ;PS2 Controller CLK (White)

What is important here is to connect the wires as I mentioned and it should work...

Good Luck
Kurt

Look at the data sheet (http://downloads.basicmicro.com/downloa ... _B0010.pdf) Page 9.

You will see there is the Aux2 connector (J5). If you look at the diagram you will see that these IO pins do exist and where they are located on the board.

As for which receiver? Who knows, you did not provide any information like which ones do you have?

So you might be getting some results from the PS2? Hard to know what is going on from your video. Could be power? Could be lots of things..

The version of the Phoenix code for Arc32, I believe has a debug monitor built in. Leave the Arc32 connected to your PC and open up a Terminal window (bottom of the IDE). Configure it for the appropriate comm port and a baud rate of 38400 and do a connect.

Now make sure that window is selected and hit return. Should give a list of commands. Very rudimentary stuff...
But if you enter: O<cr>
Should enter into a servo offset mode. From here you have keyboard commands to select legs and move legs up or down. But in this case would be good to see if the servos can hold the legs or does the program reset (low power...). If everything looks fine here, exit that mode and then try the start button again on the PS2 and see if a bunch of stuff is printing out on the terminal...

I think you need to uncomment the monitor code so it outputs the PS2 data. Let me know if you have trouble.

I think we just keep going around in circles :?.

Having pictures of each of your components from when they were new is nice, but is not telling what you have now. Having pictures of what your stuff looks like now, that shows what is wired up to what, what jumpers are set on your Arc32... Would be much more helpful!

What cable(s) are you using to connect up the PS2 to your Arc32? Options for this was covered in several previous posts. Currently don't have a PS2 hooked up to my Arc32 phoenix as I prefer to run it with an XBee as input, but I know it did work earlier that way!

My earlier versions of this code probably still had some more debug support in them that allowed you to view the data coming from the PS2...

Also from previous post, I suggested you run the program and use the terminal monitor and try playing with the setting the servo offsets. This helps to make sure that your basic Robot is working, you can cycle through each of the servos and it will print out a logical name for the pin and you should see the servo wiggle. Helps to make sure all of the servos are working and on the right IO pin. Did you do this?

Again not sure what else to suggest that have not done already earlier in this thread.

Toward the bottom of the of the Basic Micro Studio window, is a set of tabs (Build, Debug, Find..., Terminal 1, Terminal 2..)
Click on one of the Terminal tabs.

There will be some buttons and drop down lists. In the one that list com ports, select the Port that your Arc32 is connected to. Go to the next one which is the baud rate(defaults to 300 in the list). In this one choose 38.4kbs. Now click on the connect button. Now if you click the mouse in this window and hit return key, does it do anything?

Note: I am assuming you have successfully downloaded the program you mentioned. Now enter: o<cr>
That is the o followed by the Carriage return (Enter) key. That should enter into the servo offset mode I mentioned earlier.

Next: When you turn your robot on, what do the lights do on the PS2 receiver. Is one solid and the other blinking? If you now turn on the PS2 remote control, does the one that was blinking now turn solid? If so they are talking with each other, if not, try fresh batteries and see if that helps.

If the two connect, does anything happen when you hit the start button? If so, does hitting the Triangle button, move the robot up? Does anything happen when you move the sticks?
