Dear all,

I have a v3 30A Roboclaw, which has been working wonderfully in RC mode.

Now I wanted to use it in packated serial mode, controlled by an Arduino. Unfortunately, everytime I change to any serial mode (be it simple serial modes 5 & 6, or packeted serial modes 7 - 14), the error LED will light up solid. In fact all 3 LEDs light up solid. This happens everytime I power up the Roboclaw.

I've disconnected all motors and encoders from the Roboclaw, but the LEDs still light up. I am powering it up using a 3 cell Lipo.

Do you know what does this means and how to fix it?

3 solid LEDs indicate the board is in E-STOP.

S3 in either serial mode controls E-STOP. If you connect anything to S3 that pulls the pin low the board will go into E-STOP. If you have enough external noise you could cause it to trigger an E-STOP as well. In that case you should add a pullup to the S3 signal input(to 5v) which should protect it from even very noisy environments.
