Also you should include information on the RMA that was returned. What was the name and address on the box and what product was returned. Yes, I highly recommend email or phone to get information on an RMA since it can take several days to get a reply through the forums.

I tried Ion Motion on Win2K, WinXp and Win8 and all locked up the program. I was finally able to make it work in Win8 by replacing the USB driver with a generic one from Atmel. For some reason, my Win8 machine did not download the driver automatically.

The Roboclaw USB Communications port uses the standard Atmel CDC driver. I dont know why windows isnt downloading it automatically for you.

Note that the BasicMicro USB driver is for Atom/AtomPro and Nano dev boards that use the FTDI chip, not Roboclaw which does not use the FTDI USB chip. This could be what caused your problem until you got the Atmel inf installed.
