Hi, what is the current firmware version on the roboclaw?
I saw a post that back in Oct 2013 it was 3.1.7
My board says 3.1.4 (I am using the Roboclaw Windows USB App)

Do the example apps in the latest arduino downloads require the latest firmware?
What changed between V3.1.4 and 3.1.7 (or higher)?

I plan to use an arduino mega 2560 and one of its hardware serial ports instead of the software serial code.
Is the roboclaw arduino lib compatible with the arduino mega 2560 extra serial ports?

Also saw a post that the velocity pid constants and position constants have changed from hex to float
Do I need to adjust the arduino sample apps for this?

Thanks

Currently it is 4.0.2. An updated RoboclawSetup app will be release in the next week or so. Firmware updates(On boards with 4.0+ will be available through that software.

Where do we go to get firmware updates? I am hoping that will fix my problem.

I have the Roboclaw 2x15 firmware: 3.0.2

Windows 8.0
Robotic platform is 12V I have 2 SLA 12V 18aH in parallel on a 20Amp fuse.
I am using a laptop and C# directly connected to the USB mini port on the Roboclaw.
It is in packet serial mode and the three light light and then mode and set and then the err light blinks twice.
Have tried several USB cables.

Occasionally the Windows Setup will connect even with the err light blinking but motors will not move.
Other times it will connect and motors work. Voltage is at 12.7v

Is there an answer to troubleshooting the board I have?

Is my board bricked? Can the firmware be updated from 3.0.2?

The current firmware is now 4.1.2. Anything with 4.0 and newer can be updated in the field(if it has a USB connector). If it is a 2x5a or doesnt have a USB connector it has to be sent in to be updated.

Your 3.02 firmware board can be sent it to be udpated. It will also have some hardware modifications made to it since that is a V3 board.
