Has anyone else experienced an issue where, each time they send a command 35 or 36 (Drive with Signed Speed) to the Roboclaw 2x30, it will hard stop the motors and accelerate to the new speed rather than smoothly accelerating or decelerating to the new commanded speed? The motor controller reports that it has firmware version 4.1.2. I experience the same issue with commands 38 and 39 (Drive with Signed Speed and Acceleration). I know it's not just the one motor controller - we have 2 motor controllers controlling 4 wheels and both behave similarly. I've also tried only commanding one of the motor controllers at a time, so I know it's not an interference issue between the two on the serial port.

I've also noticed that, no matter what I set the PID constants too, the hard stop to 0 is always essentially instantaneous while the ramp up rate changes considerably depending on the PID settings. This seems like a related issue, but I can't be sure.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

The RoboClaw motor controller range is now supported by Ion Motion Control,

There is a NEW website at http://www.ionmc.com and a new forum at http://forums.ionmc.com that deals only with motor control Products,

BasicMicroUK will still be stocking the basic range of RoboClaw's from 5A up to 60A,

Many Thanks

Dave
