Hello everyone

I am new to Basic programming but am amazed :D by the capabilities of those little chips.
I've bought a BasicATOM Pro40 m chip with a BasicATOM Lab Board that comes with the 2*16 lcd.
But no matter how I try to turn the code :oops: , no hello world on the screen, nothing.

And buy the way can you guys advice me some basic programming book so I can program in a rush, lol 8-) .

Check your contrast setting. The pot labeled contrast. If it is set too low you wont see anything. Turn it till you see squares where the text should be and then turn it down to the squares just disapear.

Hello and thanks for your response but did that already. All I see is some black dots that disappear as soon as I turn the contrast.

By black dots do you mean squares of about 7 by 5 pixels. Should be 16 blocks of them if the contrast is high enough.

If so the LCD appears to be ok. It just seems the program isnt working. Please post the code you are using so I can take a look. Thanks.
