Sorry, I don't have background with the 8051 (FYI:I am not the moderator of this forum which is maybe a factor in "why" you have not received a reply); perhaps your request for information would be better suited in a website that deals with the 8051 processor (which can be located by using Google).

Hi,
If you have an extra spare port you can use a 1-Wire EEPROM. It use only one wire to read/write to the memory.
